T144 Manufacturing Technology is an exploratory, hands-on lab course where students build multiple projects using a variety of tools and machines. Students will work with woodworking tools and machines, manufacturing equipment, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to learn fundamental fabrication and production processes.
This course helps students discover their interests within Applied Technology and prepare for future courses in related fields. Many students also take T134 Engine & Power Technology during the opposite semester.
NO prerequisite or prior experience needed to take this course!

This hands-on manufacturing course introduces students to the fundamentals of machine shop theory, safety, and precision metalworking. Students will learn to safely operate lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and drill presses in order to build a variety of machined projects.
The course aligns with National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) standards, and students may have the opportunity to earn NIMS credentials demonstrating their readiness for careers in advanced manufacturing.

Computer Aided Manufacturing

In this hands-on Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) course, students take ideas from concept to creation. Using Autodesk Inventor and Haas CNC machines, they design, program, and produce real parts—bridging creativity and technology through modern digital manufacturing.

This advanced manufacturing course takes machining to the next level. Students build precision projects using lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and CNC machining and turning centers. Through hands-on lab work, they master setup, operation, programming, and quality control using modern industry techniques. The course aligns with National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) standards, and students may have the opportunity to earn NIMS credentials.

Welding & Metal Fabrication

Students will learn the basics of welding and metal fabrication used in many industries. This course covers oxyacetylene welding and cutting, brazing, stick welding (SMAW), MIG welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting. Students will also learn how to set up, operate, and program a Torchmate CNC Plasma Cutter. Emphasis is placed on safety, proper equipment use, and hands-on welding practice.
